About Alison
I am the new Chief Inspirational Officer of The Barefoot Foundation and really enjoying working with Dawn Gibbins of Secret Millionaire and connecting with some amazing people.  Together we are aiming to really make a big difference initially for Young People and then offering support and services for other individuals and organisations. I am based in Bosley, nr. Congleton its wonderful having the opportunity to implement the vision and dream I have held the last few years.  Of course when you step into the flow many others come who have either held a similar idea or to add/support what is being created. Prior to this I held the role of Spiritual Director at Gorton Monastery in Manchester for three years.  It was been a deeply moving experience and offered me the opportunity to bring together and connect with many wonderful people.  I have offered spiritual direction, facilitation of groups, coaching and training young people and along with the team organised events for many amazing spiritual teachers.  These include Mother Meera, Deva Premal, James Twyman, Diana Cooper, Edwin Courtney, Glennyce Eckersley, Gary Quinn and many more.   I have now left this position to adventure out and spread my wings. I am still the preferred minister of ceremonies at the monastery for weddings and funerals/scattering of ashes.  I also offer Spiritual Direction and hold development groups on a monthly basis.
Over the years I have worked with 'looked after' young people, created and set up a service which helped adults to detox from heroin, developed a counselling service for sex workers and offer Soul Coaching for all ages.  I facilitate groups in spiritual/personal development and those searching for their soul purpose.  I really enjoy journeying with people as they release from their inner prisons to find the joy of life and fulfillment.  I too have experienced many years of inner work to release from fear and pain, I believe that I cannot offer an open space for others if I do not face my own barriers and issues first.  I see this as lifelong path. 

I came into ministry after lighting a candle one day on the lady alter in the monastery.  I had been offering talks around the connections of the names of God, how most had the "ah" sound in them, the heart sound.  When a child falls we say "ahh" and go to them, we are speaking our heart sound, when we hear a sad story or someone's woes we do the same.  We connect through the heart, where we love one another.  I decided I needed more experience of the faiths if I was going to talk about this, hence the candle with prayer, "If I am meant to do this God then show me how"?.  Within 10 days I received my answer, "The opportunity to train with the Interfaith Seminary then presented itself....and here I am.

Ceremonies
When I first began learning about ceremonies I knew I had found something I absolutely loved.  The joy I feel in creating and personalising a ceremony, whether it be for a joyous occasion of uniting a couple through a wedding/blessing/hand fasting or marking the importance of a life with a baby naming/funeral/living funeral or a memorial, is a wonderful gift.  Sharing in peoples lives, holding their beliefs, then writing and delivering the ceremony, offers such a deep spiritual connection.  Ceremonies do not have to be deeply religious to offer spiritual and personal importance, they can be far from it yet still hold the energy of human life and mark the existance of the person/couple in beautiful ways. 

Spiritual Direction/Teaching.
My training to be a Minister has been a joyous one with lots of personal learning along the way.  A journey that has been a continuation of my spiritual and personal development over the last 20 years.  I have developed  and teach The Higher Consciousness healing programme for truly obtaining a clearer understanding of self in relationship to oneself and others.  I am a trained counsellor/psychotherapist, a Reiki Master Healer/teacher and offer some aspects of Traditional Chinese Medicine {TCM}. I am an energy worker and a psychic intuitive, however all my work is offered after surrender to the Divine.  I have studied many other subjects and attended many personal/spiritual development courses.  I see myself as a continual student and teacher in life, as we all often are.  I enjoy my work whether it be as a Healer, delivering Inspirational talks, personal client sessions or facilitating/teaching groups/business coaching. I feel blessed to be able to have a vocation in meeting my soul purpose.
