Alison with Deva Premal, Miten, Sunato and Ravi

        Picture
This photo was taken at the stunning concert held at the Monastery.  I'd heard Deva and Mitens music on many occasions especially throughout my training in ministry.  I decided to connect with them and invite them to share their amazing sacred sounds with the people of Manchester.  They came and the concert was beyond everyones expectations.  The energy was lifted, vibration high and I loved their humour and enjoyment in performing.

Crowning of the Crone - Celebrating 50.

        Picture
This lovely photograph was taken of Amanda Baker on her 50th Birthday.  Alison created a ceremony with her close friends bringing in many traditions to celebrate the Goddess.  The ceremony was to celebrate her becoming a Crone - a wise woman.  Often within our culture we do not honour ourselves and what we have learnt as we move through the years.  We fear that age holds the meaning that we will be unworthy and unwanted yet look at all the learning we hold within ourselves.  Many cultures honour older people as being wise, beautiful, courageous, knowledgeable, skillful (I could go on). African tradition says that when we are young we are 'wet' and it is only as we age and become 'dried out' we are respected for all we know.  Tribes have elders, not youngsters to lead them.
Having a ceremony to celebrate an important age helps to acknowledge and accept all that we have become.

Enjoy a ceremony tailor made to honour and mark your birthday or rites of passage as Amanda did.
